Bobby Pearson and the King Bobby Pearson died in January 2001. His obituary in 16 Squadron Newsbrief quotes his comments on this photograph. "I'm the Squadron Leader standing in front of my aircraft, MM282. [His navigator, F/Sgt G.R. Curson, was on his right and his fitter, LAC Sagar, on his left.] King George VI wanted to see the bomb-bay and the type of racks we had [for the flash-bombs], etc. I was detailed off to take him underneath. Partly doubled up and pointing out the equipment by hand, I knocked his cap off. Nobody saw and we both had a huge laugh!" < Sorry, your browser does not support inline SVG.
