I would be very interested to find out about the origin of this fine painting by Mr. Shigeo Koike. It is clearly RG116, the aircraft featured on the front cover of the Unofficial Account. Is there a photograph on which the painting was based? Is it known who the pilot and observer are? As far as I can tell, it is not a 140 Squadron aircraft. Who was it who gave their aircraft numbers instead of letters? Doug Frostick had another photograph of RG116. The pilot on the nose of Nº 6 at Amiens / Glisy is Douglas 'Pete' Petrie, who was posted to the W.S.U. (Wing Support Unit) at the time. Gordon Cole is the pilot of Nº 4 (PA888). < Sorry, your browser does not support inline SVG.
